In reply to your letter of the 14th. instant, the whole of the facts therein stated were before His Excellency when your letter of the 2nd. November last was under Eis Excellency's

consideration.

2. No distinotion has been made between Mr. Dillon and

yourself with regard to the date of which promotion to the rank of I Grade Land Bailiff has been granted. Mr. Dillon has however been granted the maximum salary of the new grade in accordance with General Order 115. He had indeed been in receipt of the initial salary of his new appointment for 4 years prior to receiving promotion. You have only drawn your present salary of £250 since the 1st. October 1913 and, in accordance with General Order 115, you are not entitled

to receive the maximum salary of your new post until the 153.
